The strips disrupt airflow with evenly spaced grooves that cut down on drag and whistling, so you don’t need a fairing. The flush design keeps the setup just 1-3/8" above the factory side rails for a streamlined, aerodynamic look that blends in like it came from the factory.
You want a rack that stays solid under weight and weather. These bars are made from lightweight, structural-grade anodized aluminum with an internal H-shaped extrusion for added strength without bulk. They’re rustproof and ready to stay on your roof year-round. The UV-treated, glass-reinforced nylon legs resist sunlight and harsh weather, so your setup holds up trip after trip. With a weight capacity of 176 lbs (always follow your vehicle’s roof load limit), it’s built to carry heavy gear with confidence.
Whether you’re hauling a kayak, roof box, or ski carrier, these bars are ready for it all. Each crossbar has a built-in C-channel for channel-mounted accessories and still works perfectly with clamp-on mounts. The Vortex strips come in three sections so you can remove or trim them around your mounts without having to cut one long piece. When left in place, the strips cushion your gear and keep out dirt for a clean, quiet setup.
Installing this system is straightforward without extra tools or drilling. The co-molded, rubber-coated stainless steel straps wrap completely around raised rails for maximum contact and hold. Built-in locks on each leg secure both the rack and any accessories mounted in the top channel. Love the look of the vehicle as a whole! The bars certainly blend right in and look factory! So good to know it was a perfect fit for the '25 Outback Wagon, too! What will be going up there on the bars?
